Santa Cruz Fire Department rescue man trapped in motel

SANTA CRUZ The Santa Cruz Fire Department rescued an unconscious disabled man from a fire at the Aqua Breeze Inn on Sunday afternoon The fire crew which received the call at p m rushed to the scene and exposed heavy smoke coming from the motel s first floor According to personnel hotel occupants were evacuating the building with chosen reportedly screaming that an individual was trapped inside one of the rooms Firefighters aggressively extinguished the fire while looking for trapped individuals They swiftly located the unconscious man in the room and carried him outside for physiological healing The man was then transported to Dominican Hospital for emergency care but his condition remains unknown Additional fire crews worked to stop the fire from spreading to adjacent rooms and ensured that all occupants were safely evacuated The cause of the fire is under scrutiny though leadership do not believe it to be suspicious
